Welcome to The Late Bloomer!

Hey there, I'm Alyssa.

A few things about me that don't fit neatly into a blog post: I'm a wife. I was saved by Jesus Christ four years ago. I'm a licensed attorney in Oregon who somehow also became a storyteller, which I didn't expect. And I love to host. Give me a reason, a table, and people I love, and I will find a way to turn a random Tuesday into an occasion.

I think that's actually the heart of why I started this blog. Hosting is just storytelling with food instead of words, you're creating a space, setting a scene, inviting people in, and hoping they leave a little fuller than when they arrived. That's what I want this blog to be too. A table.

I named it The Late Bloomer after something my Grammy has said for as long as I can remember, that the women in our family are "late bloomers." I used to hear that as behind. Now I hear it as right on time, just on my own clock.

So pull up a chair, here's some of what's on the table: a series on the SPPE, an alternative path to becoming a licensed attorney in Oregon, reflections on faith, marriage, and becoming, plenty of dinner parties, some wedding content, a honeymoon, and probably more baking than anyone asked for.
